Getting in Shape

After coming back from Australia in December 2011, I actually found out I gained about 22lb (10kg). I guess no exercising, taking the bus most of the time and working in a Donut shop and Burger King aren't very good for your figure. So after the holidays I decided something had to be done, there isn't really a point in trying to get into shape during the holidays, so I started in January.

I actually got a job at McDonald's at the time, and I was kind of scared this might be a problem. But actually for the first few months I didn't had any of the food there, I just brought my own lunch, so I didn't have to buy the unhealthy stuff. I didn't really have money to go to a gym, so I did exercises from Youtube videos and started the Start to Run program. Working at McDonald's means walking a  lot and I took the bike to get to work.




After a while I kind of got slack and I kind off stopped paying to much attention to it, but I lost 11lb (5kg) and it stayed off till I moved to San Francisco. When you tell people you're going to live in the States for a year they all warn you about all the fastfood and that you'll probably gain weight. There I was, just lost 11lb and now it would probably get all back on.

So when I decided to start to loose some more wait and getting in shape this January, I was kind of scared what I would see after 3 months in the States, not exercising and not eating very healthy. Don't get me wrong my host family has pretty healthy dinners, compared to what some people eat here, but I was the one making the bad choices. For example I found a donutshop on the way to Golden Gate Park, and everytime I would go there I would get a donut. This would happen anywhere between 3 and 5 times a week, shame on me! But when I hit the scale this weekend, I found out I actually lost weight since I got here. I still want to try and loose about 16lb (7,5kg) and get in shape.

That is why I started the Start to Run program again and I'm planning on eating healthier. I got some multivitamins, fish oil, and protein shakes, hopefully this will help me too. Normally I never use this kind of stuff, but I figured why not just give it a try?



Just to be clear, its not necesairly about losing the weight, its more about getting in shape. That's why I also measured certain areas of my body, because if I will exercise more, I will probably gain muscle, which weighs more than fat.
