As you can read in the About Me section of my blog, I love to travel and have seen quite a lot of places in the last few years.
Sometimes it is hard to be away from your family and friends for a longer period of time, because your lives are so different. If you are going for away, for lets say a year, you grow and develop as a person, but the people that you leave behind do to. The problem is you don't grow together, and once coming back you may find that you don't have that much in common with some friends anymore. This happened to me, but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there with the same experience. To try and keep my friends and family a part of my life I started a travel blog. Here I basically tried to post something every week about everything that had happened to me. This way my friends and family could at least see, pretty detailed, what my life was like.
I started this blog when I went on a holiday to Spain with my best friend. This was more of a try-out thing, because we where only going away for like a week. But ever since then I used my blog to keep everyone back home posted on what happened in my life.
After Spain, I went to England for 2 months to work as an au pair, then to Australia for 10 months to study and now I live in San Francisco, once again as an au piar. If you want to read my travel blog I have to let you know it's very long and it's all in Dutch.
I'm currently still posting on my travel blog every Sunday, to keep my family back home up to date. One day, when I'm old and grey it would be awesome to read everything back, because the memories will stay forever...
