This week it is time for #3 of this series of articles about my life in Australia. This time I will talk about some of the best memories from that amazing time, almost 2 years ago.
I
promised I would talk about some memories from when I lived in Australia. Off
course I can’t talk about all of them, then we would still be here tomorrow,
but I picked out the ones I thought where best to share here.
The very
first one that comes to mind is ‘Easter’, we didn’t really plan on doing
anything, but Ethan did. He put Easter eggs all around the house and in front
of our bedroom doors, he put a little Easter bunny. He made a trail with
washing powder and even made little footsteps, like the Easter bunny had been
there. It was around exam time if I
remember correctly, so all that chocolate was very welcome, while we were
studying. Thanks Ethan!
Another
great memory is the weir ‘party’. There was a weir pretty close to our house
and one day we decided to go there, and it was so much fun! We were taking
crazy pictures, climbing in trees and had a lot of fun, just like we were
little kids again. We also went to a playground, haha, I guess that just adds
to the being kids again part.
For part of
my time in Australia I worked at a donut shop, which meant free donuts if I had
to close… When I had to close, I was allowed to bring some of the left over
donuts from that day, which sometimes resulted in a huge box. They were really
good, but my figure wasn’t too happy about it haha. It was a pretty fun place
to work, but it was really small, and I was usually there alone, not very nice
if you get sick, which happened once. I got sick in my way there, and when I
told the manager she just left. I was almost passing out and when I called her,
she said she couldn’t come back, so I had to call everyone on the list and
eventually there was one person that could come 2 hours later. Even the
customers could see I was sick, I was shaking and could barely make them their
coffee, luckily the other girl came in and Greta picked me up, so I didn’t had
to get home by bus, which would take me 1,5 hours.
This is not
necessarily a good memory, but I wanted to share it anyway. One night when we
went out I came across this really creepy guy in a club. I was actually dancing
with a friend, but he just pushed him away and started grabbing me. So I kept
walking away from him, but he didn’t give up. At some point he pushed away my
friend and started dancing behind me, grabbing my hips, not just putting his
hands there, no really grabbing them so I couldn’t get away, and then the most
disgusting thing ever happened… He started to suck on my back! That was
definitely a little bit too much, for little innocent me haha. Luckily Danni
rescued me, she was dancing in front of me and started dancing with the guy so
he would get away from me. Then it took two of our guy friends, to get the guy
away from her. At the end of the night that guy fell on his face because he was
so drunk, and then he had to guts to ask me to help him. I just sat on a bench
and watched him struggle to get up haha, luckily I never saw him again.
Just before
I left I went on a little trip with Danni to Magnetic Island. I really wanted
to go there before, but I thought I had time, but then I was almost leaving and
I really wanted to go there. We went there for a day and we had a lot of fun.
We went snorkeling, but unfortunately the water wasn’t very clear that day, so
we couldn’t really see anything. We also went to some beaches and had a great
dinner. When we decided it was time to take the ferry back, we realized we
missed the last bus, so we asked Thom (roommate) to pick us up, luckily he was
able to, else we had to take a cab.
This are
just some of the memories from my life in Australia, I hope you enjoyed reading
them. What are your best memories?
