In my last post I talked about that I applied at a University in Australia and I got some news from them, not bad, but not good either...
They told me they need my transcripts from the Human Biology class I'm taking right now, which I can't give to them until I completed the class. The problem is, the class doesn't end until the end of May, and I'm going home in July. When I send it to them, it will takes some time for them to assess it, so I probably won't hear anything until mid June.
I also thought my TOEFL test score was high enough, but it turned out I was 1 point short on reading and I have to take the test again, which is going to cost another $200. I think I will take the IELTS test this time, because my previous experience with this test was better than with the TOEFL, it was a lot easier to concentrate.
I will hear the final answer about Australia pretty last minute, so I have to figure out a back up plan. In my last post I also mentioned I applied at a school in Holland, but they changed it to a lottery degree. Everywhere in the country nursing is now a lottery degree and I won't know if I get in until July, so another very last minute thing.
The good thing is that I now know what I want, study in Australia, and what I definitely don't want, living in Holland for a long period of time. Which made me think of what my options are if Australia doesn't happen and I made a list of four possibilities:
1. Australia
2. New Zealand
3. England
4. Holland
So Holland is going to be last place and I will try everything else before I would really want to do that. I haven't looked into New Zealand that much yet, but it's a good option that I'm going to look into in the next few weeks. I already looked into England, but I won't be able to start there until next year and I'm not sure if I can get in with the high school diploma I have, so I need to check that.
That's where I stand right now, so I might actually apply to four different universities in four different countries, isn't that crazy?! I will let you know if I have any more news or figured out the exact options in all four countries. I know this might be a bit all over the place, so if you have any questions or anything is unclear, don't hesitate to let me know ;)
