Today I'm talking about the 14 legal Au pair agencies to become an Au pair in the USA. The only way to become an Au pair legally in the USA, is trough one of these agencies, any other way is illegal. I will post a link to the agency's website and a brief description about the agency. I hope this will help some future Au pairs who are looking into coming to the USA as an Au pair.

1. Agent Au Pair
This is the agency I came to San Francisco with. It is a relatively small agency that only places Au pairs in California. They are based in San Francisco, and this is also where you will have your training. I like the fact that the agency is quite small, for example I think at the moment there are about 15/20 Au pairs with this agency in San Francisco, with some other agencies there are about 70. You have a monthly meeting and with this agency the group is split in two different groups, which is nice because it is nice and small and you get to know everyone.
2. Au Pair Care
Au Pair Care is one of the bigger agencies, and is founded in 1989. The training for this program takes place in New Jersey and they place Au pairs all over the country.
3. Cultural Care
Cultural Care has provided Au pair childcare for American families for over 25 years and is also one of the bigger agencies around. The Au pair training is in New York and they also place Au pairs all over the country.

This were all 14 legal Au pair agencies that place Au pairs in the USA. The basics are all pretty much the same, but there are some small differences. For example most of them require you to have a driver's licence. With Agent Au Pair you can also apply without one. If you are considering becoming an Au pair I would recommend you to go trough all the website. See if you can get a brochure and then decide what would work best for you. Good luck!
