My week in pictures #29

In 'my week in pictures' I will let you have a look into what's going on in my life. Every week I will try not to forget to take pictures and show you what's happening. My phone goes everywhere with me, so most of the pictures will be taken with my IPhone. If you want to see more pictures out of my daily life, you can also follow me on Instagram. Let's have a look at what happened this week.

This week started with Orientation week at Uni, there was an expo with different things you could do and where you could get all sorts of information. I went with 5 of my roommates, so it was a lot of fun, we even got a group pic out of it haha ;) They also had a stand with a super cute koala. It was also one of my roommates 21st birthday, so in the evening 10 of the roommates came to dinner for her birthday. We went to a Spanish restaurant called: 'Ole' in Southbank, the food was great. The only thing not so great is that we ordered 3 servings of Churros and then they forgot mine :( By then the kitchen was closed so I had something else for dessert, but it was pretty dissapointing.

The second day of orientation was more based on my faculty. I had a three hour presentation where the explained everything we are going to do this year. After that I had a little break and then we were split up in smaller groups. You would be in the group with people that had the same hospital for placement as you do. We are actually already starting placements in our fifth week, so I'm pretty nervous about that, but excited at the same time. We'll see how that goes!

Wednesday was market day where there were a lot of different stands where you could join different clubs and societies. There were over 150 this year, so it took quite a while to get trough them all. I joined the Surfers club, Karaoke Club, Nursing and Midwifery student Association and was thinking about the Yoga club, but am not sure about that yet. I also had a doctors appointment to get my vaccinations done, and will have to go back on Monday for some more testing.

On Thursday they had some animals at uni, so we went to check that out. In the end I didn't take a lot of pictures, because it was so hot and it was really crowded I didn't feel very well, so I didn't stay long. But I did get to hold a snake ;)

Friday I went to uni for one workshop, which was pretty boring haha. In the afternoon we decided to go to South bank and a movie, but on the way there I got a text that our new family member would arrive that night. We were looking for a cat and someone offered us one, and he is great, so they came to drop him off Friday night, and I skipped the movie. Everything went really well, until we all went to bed and he managed to get out through a window. We were quite concerned because he had only been with us for a few hours and we didn't think he would find his way back. We looked around for him, but it was dark outside and we couldn't find him...

The next morning I went to look for him again, but still couldn't find him. Eventually I ended up messaging the previous owner as she was the one registered for his microchip I figured she should know. She actually drove all the way to out house, about 45 minutes, just to come help look for him. We didn't find him at first, but when she started walking around with his food he came out and got him. Turned out he was under the neighbors house the whole time... We were all so relieved he was back and didn't get lost. He seems to do great now, and loves all the attention. I will talk some more about him in a post later this week.

Sunday I took a First Aid and CPR course, that was required to do my placement for uni. It was really long from 9.00am till 5.00pm, but it was actually pretty interesting. My weekend wasn't very exciting ;)

Next week I will have my first classes, will get a gym membership and will start again with the BBG.

What are your plans for next week?
