New York City Trip

As you might know I'm currently living as an au pair in San Francisco. I guess one of the main reasons to become an au pair is to discover a new country. And what better way to do it than travel...



After a few small trips since I got here I'm going on my first 'big' trip in February, destination: NYC

When I first got here I didn't know anyone, so I looked up some groups for au pairs in San Francisco and the Bay Area and became a member. One day I was browsing trough the message board and I saw a post from a girl that really wanted to go to NYC and a Lady Gaga concert. In February Lady Gaga happened to be in NYC for a concert, so she wanted to go then, but she did have anyone to go with her. That sounded very interesting, because NYC was definitely on my list, and the concert was a nice extra. So I send her a message and we met that weekend.

She seemed really nice and we met again to figure out what we wanted to do. Now it is less than three weeks away, everything is booked and we are ready to go!

We are going to stay in a hostel in Manhattan, just because its cheap and being an au pair doesn't make you rich. It's not like we're going to spend a lot of time there anyway, its just to sleep. We made a little list of what we want to do, but we can probably add some more things. This is the list so far:

* Statue of liberty cruise

* Central park

* Times Square

* Broadway (show)

* Empire State Building

* Rockefeller Center/Top of the Rock

* Staten Island ferry

* Ground Zero

* Lady Gaga concert

We're still looking into doing some other stuff too, but recommendations are always welcome. I'm really excited for this trip, and will create a post all about it when I get back. We will be going for 5 days, the 21st till the 26th, so there might be no posts while I'm there.
