Snicker, my pet rabbit

Ever since I was little I really wanted a dog, but my parents would never let me have one. But I always had pets, maybe not a dog, but I had fish, rabbits, rats, and a guinea pig. It kind of weird not having any animals around now I'm in the US. I'm still planning on getting a dog when I live on my own, for now I just have to do it without any animals around.

We always had animals, my parents had birds and fish when I was really little. And when I was about four me and my sisters got our first pet, a black rabbit, called Stampertje. We named after the rabbit in the Disney movie Bambi. Unfortunately after a few years he died and we found out on Christmas Eve, which was really sad.

Between me and both my sisters, we actually had quite a lot of pets. After Stampertje died, we all got our own pets. My youngest sister got a guinea pig, called Snoes. My middle sister got another rabbit, called Snuf, and I got two pet rats, called Anne and Sanne. My mom always told me that if I took good care of my animals, I would be allowed to have a dog, but obviously this never happened. Unfortunately Anne died first after only about 6 months, because bot my rats probably got in a fight, but Sanne lived the longest of all those pets, she was 5 or 6 when she died.

Then I had a guinea pig called Angel, but she was kind of wild. She wouldn't let you pick her up, and even if you would try to fill up her food bowl, she would attack you. She actually had babies ones, even though I only had one. Apparently she got pregnant while she was still at the pet shop  which should not be possible because she was way too young. At the same time my sisters and me had a rabbit together called Bunny. And my youngest sister got 2 hamsters, and they had babies twice. We didn't keep them, but when they where very little we had about 10 hamsters at a time, which was a lot. My middle sister had two mice, and we had all these pets at the same time.

Eventually all those pets died, and I got another rabbit, called Snicker. My sister got two rabbits from a friend, and they where supposed to be two girls, but we found out they weren't. In the first nest they had, all the babies died unfortunately, but we didn't separate them on time, so we had a second nest. This time only one of them died and we had three healthy ones. My sister decided to keep one of them and the other ones got sold.

And now in 2013, my rabbit Snicker is still back in Holland and my sister still has one rabbit too. Now I see this list, we actually had quite a lot of animals over the years. We actually had some fish too, goldfish and guppies. Unfortunately I have lost all my pictures once, and I wasn't able to save some of them, that why I don't have pictures of all the pets.

I still really want a dog, so as soon as I move to a place where that is possible I will get one from a shelter, because there are so many animals without an owner.
